Brent Hoff’s Christmas Links

After the morning’s mandatory material validation ritual, I plan to honor my personal Jesus, Ganesha, by continuing to stress about all the unknowable crap I can’t do anything about and, of course, pondering the TRUE meaning of Christmas. Christmas is about being “fair” right? Spending the same amount on both mom and dad? Maybe helping those less fortunate? I wonder if reports of election fraud have continued to come in and if I’m the only person in this country who feels that, despite winning, Obama’s first 100 days should include drastic electoral reform to create fair elections.

Christmas is about Christmas dinner and eating well right? I wonder what new tales of blatant corruption and gross mismanagement of the public trust by the FDA, USDA, and Congress have been revealed in regards to our basic necessities.

Christmas is about “Dreaming of a White Christmas?” That reminds me that thanks to overfishing and global warming, Christmas is increasingly about an impending deep sea squid uprising. (click Born Like Stars) And for more….. “Your Octopus, Squid and Cephalopod Information Center”

And twinkling Christmas lights? How about that frigging glowing spinning pentagram around Saturn’s south pole that scientists can’t begin to figure out?

And speaking of mysterious magic elves flying across the the sky and sneaking into houses? I’ll likely go to sleep listening to a Paracast podcast and wondering if, somewhere out there, other people are seeing whatever it was I saw on my roof that night all those years ago.

Now I need a dose of Baby Einstein.
