Che Debates Rage On

With the first half of the five-hour epic still in limited release, Steven Soderbergh’s Che film is already fomenting great debate on the Web. Last month, A.O. Scott negatively reviewed the film, citing limited imagination, shallow themes, and typical Che nostalgia. Adam Kotsko hasn’t seen the film yet, but he resents how Scott suffuses the review with his own liberal politics. Meanwhile, janedark essentially calls Scott an “embarrassing” and “pathetic” critic because, janedark claims, he conflates “human” with “bourgeois.”
