Great interview! I distinctly remember Chris as my first ever roommate. This will be the first movie that I will go see in a theatre in like 20 yrs. I have fond memories of the Conan years as well! Congratulations to all involved

Zach and Chris....I got this link seeing Susanne Reed's link to it on Facebook. Reading it brings back so many memories of Daycroft and getting in touch with Susanne and Kris Richards has been awesome and they are both as sweet as they were in the 80s! Zach, Congrats on your achievements and regards to your lovely parents!
Chris, I will keep up with your articles if I can in the future and Bon Jour to your wonderful Mom (my French teacher!) and the rest of your family and the relies like Mr Read (Dad to Oliver Read) too!
Zach, I am sure my hubby will enjoy the Watchmen as he enjoyed 300.
All the best to you in your future endeavours!
Ciao...and love,

Zena (Zenobia) Frank

Well, I didn't go to camp with Zack and Chris but we were all in the same graduating class at Daycroft! I remember Zack as this gorgeous, crazy kid whose video camera was ever present...my 'fondest' memory was Zack trying to teach me how to snowboard on the hill behind the cottage at the bottom of the campus. As I started down the hill, Zack yelled, "Cry havoc and let slip the dogs of war!!!" then I hit a tree, lol. (Wonder if he still has THAT footage???) Unlike the softball incident at the reunion (thanks Chris, lol), I wasn't hurt and we had a ton of fun. In fact, it was almost as much fun as spending the night on that rat-infested island in 10th grade for biology where Zack and Jeff scared the hell out of us when we had to run the crazy path around the island in the dark...good times to be treasured forever!

We're proud of you Zack...keep up the good work!!!

I knew Zach when he was 3-5 years old (I think that's right) and toodling around the TV at the Daycroft Boy's dorm in front of his father. (His father was the champion of the beady eye and the emphatic discipline - it's pretty easy to see how Zach would obtain a directorial gene or two.)

He was the cutest 4 year old on the Daycroft campus; it wasn't even close.

I'm amazed where Zach has gone...from this cute four year old charming and convincing people to watch childrens' shows in the early 70's to bossing around Geoffrey Rush. Awesome.

Gents - this is too funny. Not sure if you guys remember me (I'm a year or two younger than you both) but I went to Owatonna with you guys in '84. I think Bert Cady was the director at the time and Duncan Martin was the head counselor. My wife Melanie (Starner) also went to Daycroft with you guys and so that's how I found out about this interview.

-Chris, loving The Rumpus - just added it to my Google Reader.

-Zach, haven't seen Watchmen yet but plan to. I did see 300 and it was one of my top ten movies ever - mainly because of your kick ass stylization.

If either of you guys are ever in Austin, be sure to look me up. Would love to grab coffee or a drink.
