How I found this video:

1. It’s late-ish Sunday night.
2. I am working on an interview for The Rumpus.
3. As part of the writing process, I dance to a song by Matchbox Twenty (to the point of being out of breath) and then go on Facebook. I think about drinking alone.
4. I’m in one of those moods, so I look at profiles I shouldn’t view in order to stay emotionally stable.
5. I look at my “first” ex-”love’s” profile.
6. I look because the season finale of 30 Rock had the Beastie Boys on. So, he was in my mind.
7. I want to see his relationship status, just for fun.
8. Oh yeah, that’s right. He has a girlfriend. How could I forget? I didn’t forget.
9. His girlfriend (whom he had all the time I knew him and still has, five years later, mazel tov) posted this incredible video (below) that really rings true, all 64 steps.
