Okay,this is brilliant. As is the idea to make “Flagrant conflict of interest book reviews” a regular series. Students reviewing books by former teachers. Sons reviewing books by mothers. You reviewed my last book so here’s what I think of yours, on and on. I’d tune in for that. The incestuous world of jacket blurbs turned upside down. In the fall we’ll all be looking forward to Stephen Elliott’s father’s review of The Adderall Diaries.

Magnificent! I can only aspire to writing such a fantastic review. Of course, I’ve never dated, lived with, or even had a one night stand with a writer so I’m not likely to have a chance to come close to this one. And since you already have a whole slew of offers on the best friend front, can I be a second tier friend? See, I’m realistically self-effacing. That has to be worth something. How about if I promise to hop out and get the book?
