Seems to me that the mockery from the general public for having stolen such a bad movie would be enough punishment.

Jack Yates, 28, was sentenced to six months in prison today for making an unauthorized pre-release copy of “The Love Guru,” the Mike Myers comedy that Paramount Pictures released last summer.

Here’s another ridiculous example–the RIAA wins a nearly $2 million judgment against a woman for downloading 24 songs.
