Some people will never get Bukowski, and some people will never fully decode Dylan Thomas. I have greater sympahty for the latter group: open minded and curious and fascinated by writing and by life.

Happy birthday you dirty old man. People who rag on Bukowski hate real writing, real art, and real people. He wasn’t Pynchon, but at least he had a face…and some balls.

Surprised no hipster has stopped by and posted those lyrics from “Modest Mouse.”

I understand the dangers of hero worship, but unless a man is Jesus or the Buddha, it’s hard to amount to much without one.

I hate people who rag on Bukowski.

They’re always so god damned shallow it makes my skin crawl.
