Welcome to the Night Shift

I’m an insomniac, and many times these past few months I’ve checked this site at three or four in the morning, and found that nothing had appeared since the previous evening, when it was still light out in San Francisco. A serious failing, that.

Therefore we now have a Night Editor — a host for your evening’s reading — and I have the immense pleasure of being the first to serve in this capacity.

Each weekday night, between the hours of six and midnight, said editor will offer you no fewer than two posts (and not too many, overall) to help you cope with brief moments of boredom and lengthy stretches of insomnia in the weeks, and perhaps months, to come. And because you also have a life, perhaps that editor can even give you a couple things to talk about at that party or dinner you’re going to, later on. We hope to see you around.
