Fascinating to know the details of Dillinger from a perspective unknown to Mann and the Hollywood Propoganda machine that inadvertently or not creates the character in their storytelling for the rest of the world to beleive despite evidence to the contrary no matter how small it may be .
It is within these small tidbits and details that we get a different glimpse of the legend of Dillinger his Nuances and his fateful tale which reeks of a backstabbers death !
I myself liked Dillingers cockiness and adversarial demeanour despite the odds he faced yet i enjoyed even more his coolness under fire which made him an outlaw that lacked the basic instinct of fear instead running on pure survival a difference that is spotted only in certain personalities seen under fire and a rare difference at that ...
I have to finish by saying that i always beleived Dillinger was executed and ambushed not taken down by the myth of Hoover and his boy scouts that he resisted and was took down in a fair gunbattle ,Maybe this contributed to the concience of Purvis before he died who knows ?
