“Try hard to make it as interesting as possible, because if you don’t, nobody’s listening.”

A 17 minute interview with novelist and screenwriter Budd Schulberg, author of See Sammy Run and On The Waterfront. Budd, who died last week, was the son of the head of Paramount, and a former communist who testified before Congress and named members of the Communist Party in Hollywood. He says McCarthy was a bigger threat than the communists, but there are a lot of things about the Communist Party that we have forgotten.

He also talks about writing a screenplay with F. Scott Fitzgerald. It’s a fascinating video.
