Bob Sommer: The Last Book I Loved, You or Someone Like You

The last book I loved was You or Someone Like You by Chandler Burr.

A wife and mother living the Beverly Hills good life, Anne leads book groups for directors, screenwriters, producers, and actors. It’s not that she planned to do this, it just happened because she’s so well read, so brilliant, so delightfully British. But from the opening scene in which we see her highly connected, Hollywood deal-maker husband packing to leave, she will use her literary brilliance to maintain her equilibrium and to fight ferociously for the life she knows that she deserves.

One Response to “Bob Sommer: The Last Book I Loved, You or Someone Like You

  1. Eli Says:

I am frankly frightened that anyone has loved this book. I felt physically defiled having read it.

My first association was with reading the works of 1930s Nazi and pro-Nazi European propagandists, something I did as a student ages ago. It is the same strident tone, the same unapologetic slander of Jews, the same hate.

I am frightened to learn that this book has been published by a respectable publishing house and is now apparently being marketed as a movie.
