I never realized depression could actually be an asset. One of my writer friends claims that her difficult childhood set the stage for her work as an author. I guess the old adage that creativity is birthed from anguish may be true. However, depression can be debilitating if it runs unchecked. Thank goodness for the presence of both alternative and traditional methods of treating this problem. Barbara altman, author of "Battling Depression, Psychosis and Anxiety", soon to be released!
