Hey Brian Spears,

That's a pretty good point about Rush fitting in all too well with other NFL owners. Back in the day, in the 1950s and 60s, sportswriters like Red Smith used to write serious journalism about the wealthy men who owned sports teams, their excesses, their hypocrisies. Now we don't really hear anything about these people--I think in part because ESPN is the major sports-oriented newsfeed, and that network so corporate, so unilateral, so Disney. It's harder and harder to distinguish sports news from sports product.

Funny thing is that living down in south Florida, I'm also surrounded by Jets and Giants fans. That's the beauty of living in a transient population I suppose.

As far as Rush is concerned, I think he'd fit right in with most NFL owners--he loves corporate welfare, hates higher taxes on the wealthy, and hates unions. How is he different from Jerry Jones or Dan Snyder. Hell, given that Dan Snyder owns a team with an incredibly racist name, I'd say that he and Rush would probably be best buddies.
