I’m fascinated by the way the sex commune worked, the one Ms Rocket told you about, specifically the “Do Dates.” Four people get you off four times a day; so are they the same four people every time, or do they take shifts? Do they come at you in a pack or in arying combos as they see fit? Do you get to say who they are? Is this done by appointment or do they ambush you when you don’t expect it? How many people must endure this “initiation” at a time? It sounds like it would consume a lot of person-hours per month, but I can’t think of a better use for them.

I can quite understand that Ms Rocket probably won’t respond to this herself (enough with the stalking already), and that it’s probably complicated for you to contact her, get her answers, and let me see the results, but I’d be fascinated to learn more about the commune.

Hi Nate, To answer your question, I saw that Sasha Grey film also and remember the (ending) scene with the hugger. It was pure coincidence, unless it’s the same guy/customer. LOL. I’m glad these interviews reveal sex workers as the complex and bright people they are, and that you’re enjoying the series. I’ve been fortunate to get to know many of my subjects intimately and their stories have inspired, surprised and moved me. I hope to write a portrait of them that neither champions sex work nor sensationalizes it.

I really enjoy these interviews. Right after I saw Steven Soderberg’s “The Girlfriend Experience” and read Zak Smyth’s brilliant piece regarding the star of that film Sasha Grey, this series started and it was at a time when I was really starting to ponder the life expeience of sex workers, these have all been very enlightening and I am always thrilled to see a new one posted.
There is a very interesting corollary between this article and “The Girlfriend Experience” In one of the more poignant scenes of the film Sasha Grey’s character, who is a call girl, goes to see a client who is a Hassidic jeweler and they share a moment that is very similiar to the one described in this article. I was wondering if this was mere coincidence (is there a well known hugging fetish in the Hassidic world?) or if there was some contribution by Elle to the film?
