Politics Sunday

Seth Fischer bio ↓  ·  January 24th, 2010  ·  filed under politics

I feel like the politics links have been kind of depressing, so here’s something happy that also fits in with all the Canadian stuff I’m posting today: Moose flu!

Dear Vivienne Westwood, Homeless chic is not okay. Stop being evil. Love, Seth. (Mimi Nguyen has a better letter.)

The EFF just isn’t giving up on warrantless wiretapping. I love the EFF. (via Boing Boing)

Maybe, if we want to pass health care reform, we can look to something that was much harder to do and see how they did it, like passing The Civil Rights Act. Or competitive duck herding (the latter via Wired).

And finally, “Martin Amis calls for euthanasia booths on street corners.” (via @MAOrthofer)

Seth Fischer's writing has appeared or is forthcoming in Swink, PankGuernica, Monkeybicycle, Gertrude, and elsewhere. He's working on a novel about a girl who accidentally raises an army and destroys the world, and he's founding editor of The Splinter Generation. He also teaches and tutors and administrates and does copyediting and copywriting so that he can pay bills, but that only works sometimes. If you could help him make that work all the time, he would probably give you a hug, but only if you wanted one. Reach him at seth.fischer (at) gmail.com or @sethfischer. More from this author →

  1. Brian Spears Says:

Nguyen is right when she says tramp chic isn’t original, but she misses the biggest example of it, I think–Derelicte, the line created by Will Ferrell’s Mugatu in the movie Zoolander. What does it say about your line when it was spoofed almost a decade ago by Ben Stiller?
