LIVRENBLOG

I first featured Livrenblog back in January 2009. Since that time I’ve been ogling many more treasures from this wonderful French blog. Here is a taste of what you will find in their archives.

Copying what I wrote back then:

Livrenblog focuses on French artists and writers from 1890 to 1913. Aging Naturalists, drugged Symbolists, snotty Decadents, titanic Moralists, and other mustachioed Freaks viciously duke it out on the streets of Paris via a lively, ephemeral independent press.

Many writers I cover here come up again and again: Alfred Jarry, Marcel Schwob, Jules Renard, and recent pin-up Leon Bloy. Even if you don’t know French, visit for more images like the ones in this post.

You won’t see these forgotten treasures anywhere else.
