The Ford Fdn has no record of any film series on this subject–do you have a source? Could it have been for the Omnibus TV series? The photos are at Corbis, if anyone is looking for more views.

This is a fascinating account of three remarkable women, but I’m most struck by the snapshot of Monroe. I think she tends to get caught between dueling stereotypes: the vapid bombshell, and its knee-jerk response: the secretly brilliant actress who was tragically abused by the system. How refreshing to get a peek at the reality: a person.

And Arthur Miller kept on until 2005. Also, I love Carson McCullers and had no idea, for some reason, about the autobiography. Thanks for that.

These photos appeared years ago in a book of photographs of Dinesen’s life. And I always thought it was a touching, and revealing series of photographs of them all. Thanks for the reminder.
