Borders Files for Bankruptcy

Borders filed for bankruptcy this morning. In the coming weeks Borders will close about 30% of its stores. Here’s a complete list of Borders expected to close.

Borders made the announcement on a site set up to keep you up to date during the reorganization. Here is the bankruptcy filing (pdf) which states that Borders has $1.275 billion in assets and $1.293 billion in liabilities.

Not to be glib, but technically that means The Rumpus is worth more than Borders.
