Monday, April 4th: Step One: Get really, really hungry. Step Two: Dinner at Southend Grill and Bar for their sah-weet happy hour, 5-7pm: $7 for a burger and a beer! For realsies. Step Three: Laugh your ass off at PianoFight’s Monday Night Foreplays, running every Monday in April at 8pm at the Dark Room. Funny, talented and hot chicks talking about restoring hymens, chickens, eggs and something called “dick bloat”. Tuesday, April 5th: Step Four: Laugh your ass off…again -Rory Scovel, a funny-man recently on Jimmy Fallon. He’s recording his first ever comedy album at the Punchline April 5th and 6th. He tells jokes about pot, being the Karate Kid and dead girlfriends…Be a part of history/fun/hilarity and go and pee your pants in front of him. Tickets.
Wednesday, April 6th: Step Five: Learn yourself some - The University of San Francisco English Department presents the annual Emerging Writers Festival, April 6th and 7th. All events are on campus, free and open to the public. Readings by Ashley Butler, Ta-Nehisi Coates, Bradley Paul, Josh Weil and Monica Youn. For more info click.
Thursday, April 7th: Step Six: Get dramatic -ODC Theater presents Catalyst Dance, The Thank You Bar, April 7-10th, $18. A performance of dance, live music, storytelling and visual image, The Thank You Bar is an intimate experience intended to engage many levels of perception and expression. Friday, April 8th: Step Seven: Get drunk, get naked…well, see naked - This gem was just discovered by yours truly, Red Hots Burlesque puts on an excellent show every Friday at El Rio: 7:30-9pm, $5-10ss. Last time, there was a giant man in a full body blue tights suit with bunny ears. Horrifying? Maybe. Hilarious? Definitely. Get entertainment, drinks, boobies AND afterwards? Fry Bread. You heard me.
Saturday, April 9th: Step Eight: Trust me, just go to this.East Bay Rats presents Punks vs. Hipsters – Every fight will be a punk vs. a hipster. $5, 9pm. Don’t miss out on this. Please, for the children.
