Makes me very thankful for the professors I had at Georgia College in Milledgeville. I think Rumpus and Roper would make a good comedy team. Enjoyed this!

Great interview. Love that "tough little aquarium of talent"(especially true if the water in the aquarium is spiked). And also, Jane, does this mean you're not going to the Iowa reunion next month?!

Robin, you just made my day. And weekend. Thank you! I hope you like the book.

And thank you, also, both Robin and Amy, for backing up my account of Professor Almond's appearance.

I work part-time at an independent bookstore where Jane Roper came to read from "Eden Lake." I just wanted her to keep reading as did the rest of the packed house. That was a couple of nights ago and it's on top of my pile now to read this Memorial Day weekend.

Note: I compliment Mr. Almond for dressing the part of Professor where I too took his classes (every one of them). The number three definition of "grub" on dictionary.com is "an unkempt person;" Mr. Almond was dressed appropriately in ripped shirt, jeans and sandals. What I took away from his classes has not only improved the quality of my work but also made it way more fun. Among much else, he taught me not to be self-conscious when I write. Thanks for everything, teach, and thank you, Jane Roper, for the novel I am about to spend my next days reading.

Awesome! Just another one of the reasons why I love Grub Street. Two amazing, accomplished writers are funny and self-deprecating. Thanks for the great interview on both of your parts.

Note: I have taken a seminar with Esteemed Professor Almond, and he did not appear as in the above picture. He appeared to be more how Jane Roper described him. (But his mussed-up hair did not take away from his energy, enthusiasm, and brilliance.)
