i felt exposed as i read this piece. i have two young adult daughters who are about sprung from the nest and i have to tell you it’s sooooo hard not to be a hovercraft when it comes to their dealings with the world. we spend years discussing their lives with other parents, teachers, camp counselors, doctors, principals, etc. and then all of a sudden BAM, we aren’t supposed to do that anymore. inside i always hope they will be accepted and understood wherever they go but i know i can’t be there anymore to force it. hahaha.

hysterical! also a lot of truth to this. i have seen many a “helicopter” moms stating these types of concerns over their children so i love and appreciate how the writer has taken these realities and made them into ridiculously funny “issues!” more, please!

This is great – I was the intern manager at my former job and I was SHOCKED at some of the concessions they asked for. Luckily I never had any parental contact! The post scripts are amazing.

LOVE this, “we all have our own realities and his is as valid as yours or mine.” What joy! Reading that line felt like how it sometimes feels to finger your own belly button, that is, for those people blessed with innies.

Such a smooth read, for so many buried barbs. On that note, it is amazing to me how many spiders we are said to swallow over the coarse of a year, while we sleep. I only hope Gary won’t fall victim to the news. Children can be so cruel.
