It is always a joy to read anything about Mike Watt or Mike Watt talking about the Minutemen…. It is second only to watching Mike Watt play. Watching the Minutemen play was one of the pure joys of my teenage years.

I agree with Ray Shea: Mike Watt is a national treasure.

I first started listening to the Minutemen in 1982, and then the summer Double Nickels and Zen Arcade both came out at the same time…I don’t know, man. Every generation is different, but it’s almost impossible to describe now what it felt like then, DIY before DIY was a thing, everything analog and xeroxed and word of mouth and no center to any of it.
