I agree, wholeheartedly, Mr. Almond. Obama has done a great thing, against the measure of our previous "President," but he should have used your story instead. Strange that he employs plenty of people to craft good storylines, but opts not to use them. I hope that this time next year he has clued in and made use of these effective rhetorical skills, which he wielded so effectively in his original campaign, to create more change for a nation that desperately needs it.

Twin brother commentary alert--This is not a test--Twin brother Com...you get the picture: I'm Steve's twin and it really doesn't have any relevance to what I want to say (just name dropping, sorry.)
So, Steve: That sucks that you (in no particular order):
- have no insurance
- got cancer (in your head, but it's still upsetting...I'm so glad you are in remission)
- Described the exact same problem I'm having with my urination (this is actually so relevant to being a twin, that I think it best it stay "in the womb"-that's twin code speak, ha ha to fancy readers out there). Really, I've been suffering for a few years; we must speak about this!
- Oh the topic, right. I agree with a lot of what you believe-your analysis and call to action are always top-notch (you are also quite the powerful communicator).
- I disagree with your characterization of Obama. Disagree is a bad word to use because you were expressing an opinion. Your right to do so is basically the definition of freedom. I simply have a different one.
- This idea that Obama was "free" enough to tour the country, telling folksy stories and connecting with people in order to move forward and win an ideal (in your opinion) healthcare bill ignores the context in which Obama was working (I suspect mostly behind the scenes). Remember, people were coming to town hall meetings about HEALTHcare armed with guns, big ones I may add. The irony of discussing healthcare while carrying a weapon capable of slaughtering great numbers of people will never cease to amaze me.

Obama was likened to Hitler, numerous times (again, the irony...) It goes on and on. The fact that he has accomplished anything given the stated position of the Republican party: "Our objective is to ruin his presidency" (not exact quote, but close).

So yeah, it isn't perfect, compromises many important aspects of an ideal program, but the fact remains that he did what no president in last century was able to accomplish: The passage of healthcare reform.

The program will help me and many of my friends who have PEC. I hope it will help you, should positive movement continue.
Love you Steveo
