Dear Gayle,
Thank you for sending me this website. I enjoyed reading it now and reminiscing on how much it touched me when I first heard you read it at the Ovitt Library last August. I recently lost my mother and my best friend within a few months of each other. Losing them stymied my writing. I, too, had friends tell me it was too soon, but I wanted to write in spite of the pain. Your courage has inspired me to "strike while the iron is hot" and put my memories on paper as I am feeling them.

Dear Gayle,
Very beautiful. Losing your mother, regardless of the circumstances changes you forever. I know that to this day, some 43 years later, I still grieve and miss my mother who was my dearest friend. However, being able to put the grief aside and cherish the good moments is a gift that is bestowed from our Mom's from the great beyond.
