‘bed’ and ‘richard yates’ have been out-of-print (unavailable on amazon, unorderable from bookstores) for at least a year

i was making less than ~$6000/year of those books, on average, including foreign rights sales, by the time i got an agent, who offered you guys the rights to my next book first; your response was to not even make an offer

i think the mcsweeney’s/akashic model of giving the author 50% of profits (instead of the model with you guys, of giving the author less than i am now getting from ‘vintage,’ per book, is why so many authors have left you guys for other publishers; it’s simply not sustainable for the author, unless they also get another full-time job)
