Tuesday 12/12: Emily Spivack will read from her new book Worn in New York, alongside singer-songwriter Mirah Zeitlyn and former Rockette Gail Oldfield. 7 p.m. at Brickbat Books. 

Wednesday 12/13: Join Maryan Captan for Write Nite: Ekphrasis, an experimental workshop exploring visual art through poetry and prose. 7 p.m. at The Art Dept. Collective.

Thursday 12/14: Raena Shirali and Alina Pleskova present a “Femme-tastic X-mas Special” featuring readings from their own work, as well as readings by Stephanie Kaylor, Raquel Salas Rivera, and Marissa Johnson-Valenzuela. 7 p.m. at Tattooed Mom.

Friday 12/15: The InterAct Theatre Company presents a free reading of a brand new, untitled piece by playwright Mary Tuomanen. 7 p.m. at InterAct Theatre Company.

Saturday 12/16: LindoYes and Enoch the Poet present Sober Thoughts, a livestreamed spoken word showcase. 6 p.m.

Malcolm Harris will read from his new book Kids These Days: Human Capital and the Making of Millennials. 7 p.m. at Wooden Shoe Books and Records.

Sunday 12/17: Celebrate the release of the seventh issue of Bedfellows Magazine at its launch party, featuring readings by DB Jones, Liz Howard, Jane-Rebecca Cannarella, Amy Saul-Zerby, Raena Shirali, Zach Blackwood, Ailin Luca, Steven Perez, Mai Schwartz, Prairie M. Faul, Kirwyn Sutherland, Elias Rodriques, and Lily Kulp. 7:30 p.m. at L’Etage. 

Monday 12/18: The release party for Prairie M. Faul’s new poetry collection In the House We Built, will feature readings by Simon DeFeo, Zach Blackwood, Faye Chevalier, and Prairie M. Faul. 8:30 p.m. at The Homo Hotel.
