He has been published in Paper Magazine, New York Press, the Brooklyn Rail, Artforum, Bomb Magazine, Playboy, Art in America, the Los Angeles Times, the Wall Street Journal and many other venues and is current member of the board of directors of the National Book Critics Circle.
