Of course it’s tremendous to see a play on stage, but reading a play, its script, is a pleasure in its own right. I think for many of us the notion of reading plays was ruined in high school, what with the dreadful, hackneyed line-by-line dissection of Romeo and Juliet and Our Town led by an uninspired instructor....more

We love The Riveter, an online and (now) print magazine that “publishes longform by women for everyone.”
A lot has changed since we first wrote about The Riveter. Co-founders and co-editors Joanna Demkiewicz and Kaylen Ralph hired a staff, published a print issue, developed a growing social media presence, and remain committed to publishing awesome weekly content, including Q&As (with Emma Straub and Belle writer Misan Sagay) and essays (here’s one: “Literature Is Instagram’s Latest Accessory” by Alana Levinson).
