“I wrote a lot of things in the book because I thought I’d feel better if I could see something I thought or felt instead of letting it exist as this amorphous, pre-language, half-real thing in my head. My brain compulsively organizes things, and sometimes it tries to organize feelings which seems kind of impossible, but it still tries to do it.
