Monday 12/6: Celebrate issue 113 of Granta magazine at City Lights with readings by Daniel Alarcón, Carlos Labbé, Andrés Felipe Solano, and Carlos Yushimito. 7:30pm @ 261 Columbus Avenue.  RSVP at [email protected]

Tuesday 12/7: Eat, drink, and be literary at this month’s Feast of Words. This month’s potluck features a “Naughty or Nice” themed quick write and reading by erotica king Simon Sheppard. Tickets $5-12, 7pm @ 934 Brannan Street.

Wednesday 12/8: Celebrate the book launch of Hope Deferred with Voice of Witness at 826 Valencia. Join editors Peter Orner and Annie Holmes to readings from the collection of narratives about Zimbabwean lives, the latest in the Oral History Book Series. 6:30pm @ 826 Valencia.

Thursday 12/9: New art meets the latest issue of Believer Magazine at Electric Works with the group show Stella Luminosa featuring work by Dave Eggers, Matt Furie, Ian Huebert, Jason Jägel, Keegan McHargue, Clare Rojas, and Gina Tuzzi. 7:30pm @ 130 8th Street.

Friday 12/10: LDM hosts m.g. martin and Alia Volz get viewers into the holiday spirit at the first annual Literary Death Match Holiday Bloodbath Special. Waging a yuletide battle of words are Jamie DeWolf, Sarah Fran Wisby, Guinevere Q and Steven Gray, and Richard Kadrey. Judging the festive literary war this month: Last Gasp founder Ron Turner, Loren Rhoads (Morbid Curiosity Cures the Blues), and San Francisco legend Blag Dahlia of The Dwarves.  Tickets $7-10, 7pm @ 647 Valencia Street.

Saturday 12/11: Music and film share the Ninth Street Independent Film Center for Cinebeats. Music by Sonya Cotton, Adonisaurus, and Quinn DeVeaux, and films by Scott Boswell, Kerri Gawryn, and Joshua Moore. $5, 9pm @ 145 9th Street.

Sunday 12/12: Join OmniCircus for the The Garden of Earthly Delights, a CD release and performance by the quirky industrial/steampunk/robot-driven cabaret with performances by Krystin Pixton, Frank Garvey, Artemis, Daniel Berkman, and Moth Nor Rust. $5-15 sliding scale donation, 8pm @ 550 Natoma Street.
