McNally Jackson assembles an absolute rock-star lineup of writers for a discussion of 50 Shades of Grey, with Erica Jong (Fear of Flying), Daniel Bergner (The Other Side of Desire), Ian Kerner (She Comes First), Melissa Febos (Whip Smart), and The Rumpus’s own Roxane Gay. 7pm, free.

FRIDAY 7/27: This is different: Bastinado performs at Galapagos Art Space. Their music is created using a reactable live—which has something to do with sound, light, and Europe—and a didgeridoo. (A didgeridoo!) 9pm doors, 10pm show; $20 pre-sale, $25 at the door.
