The Franklin Park Reading Series this month features readings by A.M. Homes (May We Be Forgiven), Emma Straub (Laura Lamont’s Life in Pictures), Michael Kimball (Big Ray), Scott McClanahan (The Collected Works of Scott McClanahan), and Marie Helene-Bertino (Safe as Houses). 8pm, free.
Powerhouse Arena hosts David Mitchell and Téa Obreht for a talk and signing. 7pm, $10 to attend goes to the price of the book.
THURSDAY 10/18: Katie Kitamura (The Longshot) and Luis Jaramillo (The Doctor’s Wife) read at Pete’s Candy Store. 7:30pm, free.

FRIDAY 10/19: Bookcourt fêtes Jobie Hughes with a release party for his novel At Dawn. Jobie will read, answer audience questions, and sign copies of his book. 7pm, free.
SUNDAY 10/21: McNally Jackson hosts a Poets & Writers reading, featuring the poetry and fiction winners of the Maureen Egen Writers Exchange contest. 5pm, free.
