It’s National Poetry Month, which means you can expect some cooler-than-normal poetry events taking place all over the Los Angeles area!
Saturday 4/6: Marisa Silver in conversation with David Ulin about her novel Mary Coin. Free. 5 p.m. at Skylight Books. The book will be available for purchase as well.
Sunday 4/7: Rhapsodomancy with Belo Ciprani, Rae Gouirand, Brent Armendiger, and Brittany Michelson. 21+, $5 suggested donation. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and reading begins at 7:30 p.m. at The Good Luck Bar. There will be a cash bar.

ALOUD presents Caroline Kennedy, editor of eight New York Times bestselling books on American history, politics, law, and poetry, discusses her new anthology, Poetry to Live By with Los Angeles’ first Poet Laureate, Eloise Klein Healy. Free event at 7:15 p.m. at the Mark Taper Auditorium. The event is full but may have standby seating available.
Wednesday 4/10: Blake Bailey presents and signs Farther and Wilder: The Lost Weekends and Literary Dreams of Charles Jackson. Free event. 7 p.m. at Book Soup.
Thursday 4/11: An evening with Meri St. Mary & Dave Boles. These two longtime fixtures in the literary scene will be engaging the audience at this free event at 7 p.m. at Stories Books and Cafe.
Friday 4/12: Pulitzer Prize winning poet Rae Armantrout reads from her newest collection of poems, Just Saying, and will sign your copy as well. Check out this free event at 8 p.m. at The Last Bookstore.
