San Francisco-based author Anne Lammott is the prolific novelist and non-fiction writer behind works such as Operating Instructions: A Journal of My Son’s First Year and the indispensable writer’s guide Bird by Bird.
Her latest collection of autobiographical essays, Some Assembly Required: A Journal of My Son’s First Son, is a frank, poignant account of the trials and experiences she encountered when her son Sam became an unexpected father at age nineteen.
