Saturday 11/29: Saturday Night Special, a popular Oakland open mic, features Joshua Kent Fowler and Geraldine Kim. Free, 7 p.m., Nick’s Lounge.
Monday 11/3o: Daniel Handler, aka Lemony Snicket, is the featured guest tonight at SF State’s Writers on Writing, reading from and discussing his latest adult novel, We Are Pirates. Free, 7 p.m., SF State Humanities Building Auditorium.
