Friday 10/21: Head to The Book Cellar to celebrate the paperback release of Bonnie Jo Campbell‘s newest book of stories Mothers, Tell Your Daughters. 7 p.m., free.

Saturday 10/22: Head back to The Book Cellar as Gina Frangello and Audrey Niffenegger discuss the process of writing characters whose identities differ from their own. The discussion will be followed by a short reading. 6 p.m., free.

Sunday 10/23: Sarah Schulman reads from her book Conflict Is Not Abuse at Women & Children First. 4 p.m., free.

As always, the Uptown Poetry slam is going down at The Green Mill. Open mic starts at 7 p.m. followed by the slam itself. $7, 21+.

Join Women & Children First for an author event exploring women in translation, as Francesca Melandri discusses her book Eva Sleeps with Susan Harris. 7 p.m., free.

The Poetry Foundation hosts Forrest Gander and Rocío Ferreira for a discussion of Then Come Back: The Lost Neruda Poems. 7 p.m., free.
