William McKeever will be discussing Emperors of the Deep: Sharks—The Ocean’s Most Mysterious, Most Misunderstood, and Most Important Guardians. He will be in conversation with David Pinsky, San Francisco oceans campaigner for Greenpeace. Book Passage in Corte Madera at 7 p.m.
Thursday 8/1: Former Local Book Pick Peg Alford Pursell will be reading from A Girl Goes Into the Forest. She will be joined in conversation by Jane Ciabattari. Copperfield’s Books in Santa Rosa at 7 p.m.
The Believer will be hosting a night of readings from past contributors. The night’s readers include Jeff Chang (We Gon’ Be Alright: Notes on Race and Resegregation), Anisse Gross, Jesse Nathan, Steve Silberman (NeuroTribes: The Legacy of Autism and the Future of Neurodiversity), and Esmé Weijun Wang (The Collected Schizophrenias).
