Audrey Harris Fernández

Audrey Harris Fernández teaches at the University of California, Los Angeles. She has published literary criticism, personal essays and poetry in the Los Angeles Review of Books, the Journal of Multi-Ethnic Literature of the United States (MELUS), Aztlán, Chiricú, Huizache, and elsewhere. She is currently at work on a series of interviews and profiles of contemporary California Chicana/o writers. Together with Matthew Gleeson, she translated Amparo Dávila’s The Houseguest and Other Stories (New Directions, 2018); their second translated collection of Dávila’s stories is forthcoming from New Directions in 2026. She lives in Long Beach, CA with her family, and is growing a native plant garden.
