Caralyn Green is a writer, educator, and digital strategist based in Pittsburgh, PA. Her work has appeared in Venus Zine, Pittsburgh City Paper, Detroit Metro Times, Pop City, Pittsburgh Magazine, and Philadelphia Weekly, where she wrote two long-running columns on music and feminist pop culture. She holds a master’s degree in communications from the University of Pennsylvania, recently completed her MFA in nonfiction from Goucher College, and has taught writing and cultural studies at Penn State University and Chatham University. The Rumpus publishes original fiction, poetry, literary humor writing, comics, essays, book reviews, and interviews with authors and artists of all kinds. Our mostly volunteer-run magazine strives to be a platform for risk-taking voices and writing that might not find a home elsewhere. We lift up new voices alongside those of more established writers our readers may already know and love. We want to bring new perspectives into the conversation that will make us all look deeper.
