Hasret Eleby is a Turkish-German writer and translator based in the U.S. A first-year PhD student in creative writing at Texas Tech University, she holds an MFA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Her novel-in-progress The Shapes You Leave Behind explores queer Muslim visibility, diaspora, and belonging. She was shortlisted for The Masters Review Novel Excerpt Contest and received an honorable mention for the Miami Book Fair Emerging Writer Fellowship.
