Katie Berta

Katie Berta’s debut poetry collection, retribution forthcoming (Ohio University Press), won the Hollis Summers Prize and was a finalist for the Julie Suk Award and an Ohio Book Award. Her poems have appeared in Ploughshares, Poetry Daily, The Kenyon Review, The Georgia Review, The Cincinnati Review, The Yale Review, The Iowa Review, Colorado Review, Pleiades, and Sixth Finch, among other magazines. She has received residencies from Millay Arts, Ragdale, and The Hambidge Center, fellowships from the Vermont Studio Center and the Virginia G. Piper Center for Creative Writing, and an Iowa Review Award. She teaches creative writing in Arizona.

    Imprecision

    I don’t mind imprecision anymore and even seek it. How else are you supposed to convince your students you love each and every one of them, instead of loving just a few and only liking the rest very very much?
