Loren Kleinman is the co-editor of If I Don't Make It, I Love You: Survivor's in the Aftermath of School Shootings (Skyhorse, Summer 2019), a collection of primary narratives written by survivors of—and those most affected by—school shootings from the last 50 years. Her nonfiction has appeared in Ms., the New York Times, the New York Daily News, The Huffington Post, Ploughshares, Cosmopolitan, Redbook, Woman’s Day, Seventeen, Good Housekeeping, BUST, USA Today, and more. Kleinman’s The Dark Cave Between My Ribs was named one of the best poetry books of 2014 by Entropy magazine. Her short film, Suffering Is the Easy Part, directed and produced by Jaime Ekkens, is distributed by Seed & Spark and Docademia.

The Rumpus publishes original fiction, poetry, literary humor writing, comics, essays, book reviews, and interviews with authors and artists of all kinds. Our mostly volunteer-run magazine strives to be a platform for risk-taking voices and writing that might not find a home elsewhere. We lift up new voices alongside those of more established writers our readers may already know and love. We want to bring new perspectives into the conversation that will make us all look deeper.
