Maya Dobjensky earned her MFA in fiction writing from the University of Michigan's Helen Zell Writers' Program, where she received several Hopwood awards. Her work has appeared in Electric Literature, Arts & Letters, Adroit Journal, and others. She is working on a novel about myth-making and female wildness.
Jacob and I drive up into the rocky plateau surrounding town, then wander further along the highway until the lights of homes vanish. Still unfamiliar with the geography of the town, we’re unsure where to spot the aurora.
