Sarah Patterson is a former sex worker, writer, and creator with many irons in the fire. She lives and writes in the Bay Area. She began her writing career as a media columnist for $pread Magazine, an Utne Award–winning magazine by and for sex workers, which was independently published from 2005 to 2011. She also wrote the introduction to a chapter on clients in the subsequent anthology $pread: The Best of the Magazine that Illuminated the sex Industry and Started a Media Revolution. Sarah has been involved with the founding of multiple social justice organizations aimed at finding creative ways of getting resources to those most impacted by the criminalization of poverty and other discriminatory laws, while building systems that best reflect the core values of those communities.
