Saturday 4/20: The L.A. Times Festival of Books is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Rumpus will be there, sharing a booth with Tin House. Come say hi and show us some love!

The Young Literati are throwing The Book Drop BASH! There will be cocktails, dessert, music, and some very, very cool authors. $35 Young Literati and free for participating festival authors. 8:30 p.m. at the Los Angeles Central Library.

Sunday 4/21: The L.A. Times Festival of Books continues!  If you didn’t get a chance to buy a Write Like A Motherfucker mug yesterday, then buy one at the Tin House booth today! 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Monday 4/22: Peggy Riley presents and signs Amity & Sorrow. 7:00 p.m. at Book Soup.

Tuesday 4/23: Aloud presents Granta’s Best Young British Novelists. Nodifa Mohamed and Ross Raisin in conversation with Granta Editor John Freeman. Free. 7:15 p.m. at Mark Taper Auditorium in the Los Angeles Central Library.

Wednesday 4/24: Cartoonist Gilbert Hernandez signs Marble Season and shares a lovely slideshow “From Funnybooks to Graphic Novels,” which features comics of his childhood. 7:30 p.m. at Skylight Books.

Thursday 4/25: HomoCentric is back for another LGBQTI literary evening curated and hosted by Hank Henderson. 7:30 p.m. at Stories Books and Cafe.

Friday 4/26: Black Lawrence Press: West Coast Prose and Poetry will be happening! Join Elizabeth Cantwell, Tracy DeBrincat, Michael Hemmingson, Frank Montesonti, James Morrison, Jessica Piazza, and Sarah Suzor for poetry and prose readings. 8:00 p.m. at Beyond Baroque.

Xach Fromson is a native Angeleno and the co-host/co-founder of Shades & Shadows, a sci-fi/fantasy/horror/etc. reading series here in LA. He studied creative writing at California State University Northridge, where he worked on The Northridge Review. He received an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of California Riverside Palm Desert Low Residency program, and is finishing his first novel. He appeared at Dirty Laundry Lit's "Love Sucks" event in February 2013, and has stories published in "Halloween Tales" and "Winter Horror Days" from Omnium Gatherum press. And once, he slew a dragon.
