Showcasing what you may or may not agree is the greatest video ever, Jersey City, New Jersey, radio station WFMU’s Beware of the Blog website has to be one of the most eclectic collections of multimedia around. Beware of the Blog taps decades of unusual and mostly hilarious video and music recordings spanning as far back as the day it first went on air in April, 1958, through to the present. Along this road less traveled are everything from a spectacular early video of Eartha Kitt to listener remixes of the inaugural poem. That’s just the beginning.
Links to other blogs, like the extraordinary Everything is Terrible blog, reveal another layer of tasty, short-attention-span delights such as the Four Snowmen of the Revelation, Defense Against Bear Hugs and the terrifying Facercise videos.
Described by my brother-in-law as “the most exhilarating web-mediated experience I’ve had since my first AOL chat,” Beware of the Blog is the kind of site that just keeps giving and giving and giving. Enjoy.
