According to Cory Doctorow over at Boing Boing, there’s a high school kid running a library of banned books out of her locker. Her school has quite an extensive list of forbidden books, and she’s taken great care to make sure all the best ones are available to other students. The books she’s loaning include The Catcher in the Rye, Animal Farm, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and the Qu’ran. She even has an inventory log and due dates.

In what world are these books still banned? There are such multitudes in this country – it’s remarkable! As is this young girl- first for her quiet and productive dissent and second because she’s a school kid who is actually reading.
