Peter Laufer has written about things like the war in Iraq, illegal immigration, and Americans being held abroad, so this time out, he decided to write a book about butterflies and flowers. Old habits die hard, though, and he ended up writing a book about smugglers, thieves, and conservation battles despite his best intentions. I shudder to think what a book about puppies and fluffy bunnies would have produced.
