Rumpus contributor Joshuah Bearman and (coincidentally) his cousin Sarah have created a game so fun they just had to share it with the internet.
My Cousin Bernie started when “Sarah wandered in to Josh’s one day and mixed up two cinema classics when she was all like, ‘What are you guys watching, My Cousin Bernie?'”
After Sarah invented a plot for the imaginary movie a game was born, “an ongoing exercise in which the entire history of cinema is to be conflated/conceptually redefined as an alternative version Weekend at Bernies. Take any movie, insert a dead protagonist who everyone thinks is alive due to wacky hijinks, include a wild weekend beach house as needed— and viola!”
