It’s been interesting watching the conventional wisdom turn on this story. It’s been a rare feeling for me lately–union member, progressive, educator–to see the public come around to my way of thinking on a subject. The euphoria of early 2009 has more than faded, trust me. So I’m really happy to read that Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has a 60% disapproval rating in a poll done by a right-leaning company.
Rick Ungar, writing at Forbes, says the damage is far wider for Republicans than just Wisconsin. The shot at the unions might have cost the Republicans a chance at the White House in 2012.
Walker is being sued over his failure to provide emails requested through the FOIA process.
It’s possible that some Wisconsin Republican Senators are considering defecting on this vote.
